I am now in the sixth year of the Pacific Rim series, Te Aitanga a Kiwa, where I focus on the cultural energies of the peoples of the Pacific Rim and their connections with one another and ourselves. The emphasis on birds as symbols of the visits and migrations that have connected us has grown and developed and continues today.
In the last few months the starting point for each work has been our own land with images of the Pacific both historical and contemporary carrying an extension and challenge as it were to our own identity.
