It is with sad regret that we mourn the passing of John on the 16th of September 2005, he was surrounded by friends and family when he left us. His tangi was held Te Kupenga Marae in Palmerston North on the 20th of September 2005
John Bevan Ford was one of New Zealand's pioneers in contemporary Maori Art His paintings and sculptures achieved wide recognition with major sculptures in the International Sculpture Parks of Beijing, Changchun in China, paintings and sculptures in museum collections in London, Edinburgh, Berlin, Amsterdam, Leiden and Stuttgart. In New Zealand h is represented in the collections of the Museum of New Zealand, Auckland City Art Gallery, Robert McDougall Art Gallery, regional art galleries and museums, Fletcher Art Trust, Rutherford Trust, Government House, Securities Commission as well as many other corporate and private collections. John's works have also been included in many selected exhibitions of contemporary Maori art that have toured in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. His work has been purchased for private collections in the USA, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Denmark, Finland, China, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Canada, and Australia.

In reponse to a large demand for John's work, the family have decided to make available four Giclee prints. Each print is strictly limited to an edition of 20. The price is $NZ1400.00 +GST, and freight.
